Welcome to Relojearte

Antique watches, modern and timeless art.

After four decades of crafting unique pieces and sharing them with customers across the globe, I finally planted my roots in Washington D.C. area in 2008. This artistic journey began in Uruguay, where my father-in-law found inspiration in the intricate gears of antique watches. Mesmerized by their silent ballet, he saw the potential to capture the movement and dynamism of machines, from automobiles to intricate instruments. Sharing my own fascination with the way music's tempo sets the mood, I combined these inspirations to create instruments from recycled watch parts. My hope is that these pictures not only transmit my fascination with time and movement but also spark personal connections and interpretations in the minds of viewers.

Each of my creations is meticulously crafted by hand, primarily from vintage watch parts. These unique pieces are truly one-of-a-kind, and the photos showcasing them serve as a glimpse into my design world. If you're drawn to a particular piece, simply drop me an email and I'll be happy to share further details and availability. Alternatively, you can catch me in person at one of the upcoming shows listed on my homepage. Bespoke creations are also an option, so don't hesitate to reach out if you have a vision in mind.
